Welcome to EMPOWERS
EMPOWERS is a regional partnership of fifteen organizations allied together to improve long-term access to water by local communities. We mean to do so by advocating stakeholder-led activities to empower local people in integrated water resources management and development.
EMPOWERS 4-year (2003-2007) project is mainly funded through the European Union's Regional MEDA Water Programme for Local Water Management. EMPOWERS is being implemented in Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.

-
.
The EMPOWERS Family would like to bid a
Big Farewell and Thank You to all its friends, colleagues, and last but not least, the MEDA Water for the past 4 fruitful years, and for making our programme a success...
.
Although August 31st, 2007 was officially the last day of EMPOWERS; it was not the end of it...
No! that date was the first day of a new beginning and a new collaboration in the form of The EMPOWERS Thematic Group (ETG)...so you haven’t seen the end of us yet ; - )
Believing in its value, several EMPOWERS Partners have decided to form the ETG to build on and continue developing the methodologies and tools that were developed by EMPOWERS (2003 - 2007) on participatory planning for improved local water governance.
Soon, the ETG will launch its new website under which all the content of this EMPOWERS website will be transferred there.
Therefore, for now, instead of saying Farewell, we’ll say Au revoir !
Please keep a lookout for more news from the ETG..
Au revoir
