Short Story from Our Communities

It is true that families connected to the water network in Egypt enjoy a better situation than those with no such connection, but still they suffer from frequent water cuts and low water quality.

This household, for instance, contains three taps. The first one is in this little bathroom where it is used for the family daily bathing.

The third tap is where young Israa' helps her mother with washing the dishes. She tells us that her life became much easier after having her house connected to the water network.

Yet, as water cuts are very frequent, Israa' needs to store water in the 'Bokhla,' a big jar-like container for preserving water in Upper Egypt

Uncertainty about water connectivity makes this additional water container in Israa’s house a necessity for the whole family.
