EMPOWERS Trains Volunteers from the 'Specialized Federation' to Work with Women Groups

Volunteers from the Specialized Federation to Protect and Enhance the Environment in Beni-Suef are participating in the ladies meeting organized by the EMPOWERS team for data collection and selection of members of the ladies’ group in Kassab village.

The agreement by which EMPOWERS will build the capacities of the Specialized Federation and improve their role in the governorate has been successfully implemented.

The EMPOWERS team is working on sharing with three volunteers from the Federation the experiences it has gained in forming women groups and empowering them. In addition to specialized training, the volunteers attended community meetings as observers before working on their own.

The preliminary output of this training is very encouraging as they have become able to conduct meetings and interviews in the communities without the assistance of the EMPOWERS staff.
