The overall objective of the project that has started on May 1, 2003 and shall cover the period of 48 months is promoting an integrated and balanced management of water resources by conciliating respect of the environment and economically viable irrigated agriculture.

While the specific objective is to overcome current contradictions associated with local water management in Mediterranean catchment areas through innovative institutional solutions based on understanding of six key axes: social, institutional, historical, agricultural, territorial and hydrological.
